Looking at people who belong to us, we see the past, present and future. - Gail Lumet Buckley

Munich, Germany

I had a full walking tour planned out, but with two toddlers, we can never fully plan for much of anything.
John made it happen for us to reach the 43-bell Glockenspiel in time for its 11 o'clock show.
We brushed by Peterskirsche - the city's oldest church finished in the 12th century -
the Viktualienmarkt and the Heiliggeist Church, before we were forced to make an abrupt, unscheduled stop for lunch.
Then we walked down Maximilianstrasse - known for its famous shopping -
and through the Hofgarten on what was easily the warmest day of the year for us here.
On to the EnglischerGarten -- a park in the city even larger than NYC's Central Park.
We enjoyed it so much that we strolled the duration of our day there, also unplanned.
We spent some time in the sun, sitting along the banks of the water.
Such a glorious day, we even spotted a number of sunbathers opting for full nudity.
The size of the sprawling biergartens impressed us - some with oompah bands.
I should note here that German suds impress us as well.
You are beautiful, Munich!
A great trip for some much needed family time -- we hope to visit Munich again soon!
