Looking at people who belong to us, we see the past, present and future. - Gail Lumet Buckley

Lucerne, Switzerland

Last, but not least: Lucerne --
concluding our time well spent in Switzerland last weekend.
All four of us liked Lucerne very much. The locals were friendly.
But with the lack of winter sunshine working against us, we had to be quick.
John saw to it that we hit at least two of the places on my must-see list.
The first: Löwendenkmal -- the Lion Monument,
which Mark Twain called "the most mournful and moving piece of stone in the world".
And then also: Kapellbrücke --
a wooden covered pedestrian bridge that links the old town with the new town across the Reuss River.

It is the world's oldest truss bridge, built back in 1333.
A great, big thank you to my peeps who allowed me to drag them through another country a couple of days straight.
