Triberg im Schwarzwald

At the end of this past year, we threw the kids in the car and drove
an hour and a half down the road into the Black Forest for Triberg Weihnachtszauber,
supposedly one of Germany's most beautiful Christmas markets.
Triberg is home to Germany's highest waterfall, which is the backdrop for Weihnachtszauber,
along with nearly a million lights.
But with most German Christmas markets ending before Christmas,
this is one of the rare shows that begin on Christmas and end at the end of the year.
That Saturday night, this had to be the most popular ticket in all of Germany.
In fact, with so many people, we did not even get in.
No glühwein. No fireworks. No fire show with fire eaters. Next year, we will be more prepared!
But it was fun to be together,
(and we found the Hinnant staples of wurst and pommes to share.)
And, of course, that is all that matters.
