Looking at people who belong to us, we see the past, present and future. - Gail Lumet Buckley

Brussels, Belgium

We passed through Brussels, the capital of the European Union.
We tried out a variety of Belgian waffles (the stroopwafel shown here),
"French Fries" (which actually originated in Belgium), and great beer.
We may have left town with a bag of Belgian chocolates also, but any evidence of that has been destroyed.
We took in the architectural beauty of the city's main square, La Grand Place.
And we saw the Atomium, built for the 1958 World Fair.
No tour of Brussels would be complete without a stop at the famous landmark Manneken Pis.
Last week, we found him clothed, dressed in costume.
But he was a real hit with the kiddos --
perfect for our ongoing discussion on potty training.
